This programming is designed with the high school and college athlete in mind. Yes, there are CrossFit concepts at its core, but it is very different. The goal is to make each athlete as well-rounded as possible to prep for anything you will see on the field. Some athletes play multiple sports and some play just a singular one. We understand the demands of each and this program reflects that.
You will not see the majority of the gymnastics you see in a typical CrossFit setting in this program. As far as lifting weights goes, you can expect to squat, press, deadlift, bench, and Olympic lift. The snatch and clean and jerk are two of the best lifts to increase power and they are utilized in this program. Keep in mind that every young athlete needs quality coaching, so please seek that out.
The need for a strong conditioning base outweighs any athlete’s ability to move weight, so expect to breathe hard. Even defensive, and offensive, linemen need to have solid conditioning. A tired athlete will not be on the field. Additionally, when you are tired, hand-eye coordination suffers dramatically.
Increasing power and speed are also a top priority in this program. Agility drills, sled pushes and pulls, and jumping are all a part of this program.
You will receive weekly emails with instructions and there will be video links included to ensure each athlete knows exactly how to execute each drill/lift the correct way.
